As a mother of a third-grade daughter, making sure all Nevada children have equal access to quality education is a main reason I’m running.
I’m a firm believer in “You get what you pay for.” Investing in funding teacher salaries at a level that attracts the best and brightest and providing the resources they need to help every child become a priority. I’ve seen enough “drives” and bake sales in neighborhood schools, just so they can pay for programs and materials, and we need to do better.
We need to continue to reduce overcrowded classrooms, as well as provide a solid foundation through early childhood education and full-day Kindergarten for all.
Nevada’s future is at stake. As we work to diversify our economy by attracting new industries, our curriculum has to prepare students for these new jobs with solid academic and vocational coursework.
